The interactive portion of this program includes stations that cover a variety of printing-related topics.
- Hear from Mary Catherine Goddard, a publisher from Baltimore, Maryland, and the first person to print the Declaration of Independence that included the signers' names
- Learn about what it means to operate a printing press from the Printing Office of Wolff & Sauer
- Discover how books were bound in the 18th century
Bring Historical Printing & STEAM Concepts to Your Classroom
Gain confidence in integrating history and STEAM concepts in an interdisciplinary context to support student learning while building a network of local peers.
Attend with a teaching partner or collaborative team to design learning experiences to take back to your classroom, department, grade level, and/or school.

Registration Details
Who can register?
- Teachers must plan to teach in a K-12 formal school setting in the greater Washington, D.C. area for the remainder of the 2025-2026 school year.
- You may only sign up for ONE spring workshop (February 24 or April 29) at this time. If you attended the February workshop and would like to be put on the waitlist for this workshop, please click here.
- Priority will be given to teachers and/or coordinators working in Title 1 schools.
- We highly recommend attending with a teaching partner or collaborative team.
- Each workshop is limited to 30 teachers.
- A waitlist will be made available after registration meets full capacity.
