Bishop William Croswell Doane (1832–1913) was the first Episcopal Bishop of Albany, New York, and a prominent church leader known for his eloquence, high churchmanship, and advocacy for education and cathedral-building. A founder of the Cathedral of All Saints in Albany, he significantly shaped the Episcopal Church’s influence in New York during the late 19th and early 20th centuries.
