Curved profile. Drilled frame for separate pin. Distance to pin terminal is 29.69. Length of buckle would have been 58.38mm. Openwork design with rococo elements which became popular after 1750 (Whitehead 103).

Most likely shoe buckle due to size, although only a small fragment so cannot see if the profile curves. Openwork holes closed in due to corrosion/conservation.

Although oriented horizontally with a slightly curved profile, is the size of a knee buckle and has typical double prong tongue and anchor hook with cutout of knee buckle. Heavily conserved.
