Join us for an exclusive members-only evening at George Washington’s Mount Vernon.

  • Hear live music on the bowling green (6:45 p.m.)
  • Explore the gardens and grounds
  • Visit the Farm or stroll along the wharf for a view across the Potomac River (closes at 7:30 p.m.)
  • Meander through the Forest Trail until 7:30 p.m.
  • Pay your respect at the Slave Memorial & Cemetery (closes at 7:30 p.m.)
  • See the final resting place of George and Martha at the Washington's Tomb until 7:30 p.m.
  • The Mount Vernon Shops will be open until 8:30 p.m.

Note: The Mansion will be closed during this event.

Outside food and drink is not allowed.

  • Members may pre-order a picnic (see below).

Space is limited and complimentary tickets must be reserved in advance.

*Mount Vernon After Hours may be canceled due to inclement weather. If the event is canceled, any pre-purchased food and beverage will be automatically refunded.

Live Music on the Bowling Green

Joining the ranks of the premier service bands in our Nation’s Capital, is Capital Band. Their introduction to the Washington, DC music scene began in 1992, when they performed the role of the President’s Own Marine Band in the opening scene of the movie, A Few Good Men. Its members are all veterans of the highly esteemed Washington, D.C. military bands and have performed in venues such as the Kennedy Center and the White House.

Guests are encouraged to bring a blanket or small lawn chair to sit on the East Lawn. Seating is not provided.

Tents, tables, pop-ups, grills, beach or free-standing umbrellas, coolers, and glass containers are not permitted.

No outside food or beverages are allowed, except bottled water.
