Collect candy around the historic grounds and celebrate Halloween with 18th-century entertainment and activities.

All members visiting on Oct. 31 must have either a trick-or-treating ticket or must register to attend (for members not collecting candy).

All sales are final. Trick-or-Treating at Mount Vernon takes place rain or shine.

Go Trick-or-Treating

Collect candy in your special Mount Vernon treat bag around the historic grounds. This bag is required to collect candy.

Candy includes 3 Musketeers, Dove Dark Chocolate, Life Savers Gummies, M&M’S Milk Chocolate, Milky Way, Twix, Skittles, and Snickers. While supplies last.

Please note that dogs are not allowed at this event.

Explore the Historic Area to See Demonstrations

Stop by the Discovery Cart along the north lane to learn about the types of remedies used to take care of animals at 18th-century Mount Vernon. While you’re there, pick up a craft kit to make a sheep puppet at home. 

Watch sparks fly at the blacksmith shop as tradespeople create tools, utensils, and hardware to assist with preservation work and living history demonstrations around the estate. 

Learn how textiles were made using spinning and weaving techniques at the spinning house.

Listen to Musical Stories with traveling musician Robert Mouland at 3 p.m.

Hear Music of the Revolution, featuring the fife and drums, at 2:30 p.m.
