As America celebrates 250 years of independence, a new exhibit, George Washington and a Nation of Farmers, showcases George Washington’s agricultural vision and leadership.
This 18-panel exhibit explores the visionary work of Washington as the nation’s first farmer, and the centrality of his farming innovations to the creation of a new American nation.
The downloadable exhibit is available free of charge to organizations across the country.
Learn More About Washington’s Agricultural Legacy
Guest curator Dr. Bruce Ragsdale, author of George Washington at the Plow, tells the compelling tale of Washington’s leadership when it comes to the land.
The panels include text and stunning color illustrations, both historic and contemporary, which shed light on this little-known but important aspect of Washington’s contributions to the creation of a new nation.
