Pre-Visit Materials

Pre-Visit Materials

Pre-visit information will be sent before your visit. You'll receive:

  • Social Narrative: A visual step-by-step document to help you prepare your family for this program.
  • Program Map: Includes where to enter the estate and where program activities are located.
  • Tips for Your Visit: Includes further details that may be helpful as you plan your morning.
  • Visual Checklist: Objects to look for in the historic area buildings. An answer key for caregivers noting where objects are located is included with the checklist.

Accessibility

Although the 18th-century pathways in the historic area can be uneven, there is an accessible path linking the Mansion, Ford Orientation Center, and the Donald W. Reynolds Museum and Education Center.

Only the first floor of the Mansion is wheelchair accessible.

All program locations will be available via accessible paths.

It is a 0.3 mile distance from the admission counter to the Mansion.

Standard, non-motorized wheelchairs and wheeled walkers are available free of charge inside the Ford Orientation Center on a first-come, first served basis.
