Ingredients

  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 3 tablespoons melted butter
  • 1/2 cup dark molasses
  • 1/2 cup hot water
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 cup white flour
  • Sauce
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 cup whipped cream
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • Directions

    Mix all together and put in a buttered mold with a cover, such as a melon mold. If your mold does not have a lid, heavy-duty foil can be used. Put the mold on a rack in a deep pot. Pour in boiling water to come up halfway. Cover the pot and steam for 1 hour. Turn out pudding and serve with sauce. Sauce Beat the eggs with the sugar. Mix into the whipped cream and add 1 teaspoon vanilla
