Ingredients: 1 egg, beaten; 2 tablespoons sugar; 3 tablespoons melted butter; 1/2 cup dark molasses; 1/2 cup hot water; 1 teaspoon baking soda; 1 cup white flour; Sauce; 2 eggs; 2 tablespoons sugar; 1 cup whipped cream; 1 teaspoon vanilla

Ingredients

1 egg, beaten

2 tablespoons sugar

3 tablespoons melted butter

1/2 cup dark molasses

1/2 cup hot water

1 teaspoon baking soda

1 cup white flour

Sauce

2 eggs

2 tablespoons sugar

1 cup whipped cream

1 teaspoon vanilla

Directions

Mix all together and put in a buttered mold with a cover, such as a melon mold. If your mold does not have a lid, heavy-duty foil can be used. Put the mold on a rack in a deep pot. Pour in boiling water to come up halfway. Cover the pot and steam for 1 hour. Turn out pudding and serve with sauce.

Sauce: Beat the eggs with the sugar. Mix into the whipped cream and add 1 teaspoon vanilla
