Ingredients

  • 1 peck (16 pounds) ripe tomatoes
  • 5 large white onions
  • 4 large green peppers
  • 8 cups vinegar
  • 3 tablespoons salt
  • 3 tablespoons celery seed
  • 3 tablespoons white mustard seed
  • 2 tablespoons ground cloves
  • 3 tablespoons cinnamon
  • 5 cups sugar
  • Directions

    Peel tomatoes. Chop onions and green peppers very fine. Put all ingredients in a large kettle and boil for 3 1/2 hours.

    Yield: 10 to 12 pints
