Stroll through the historic gardens and hear about the principles and practices of the 18th-century gardeners and the plants they cultivated. View the landscape Washington designed himself in 1785 and gain an appreciation for his vision and masterful plan incorporating pleasure and efficiency. Then depart the 18th-century world and visit the production greenhouses for a behind the scenes look at what it takes to support the beautifully restored gardens and grounds of Mount Vernon.
Participants should gather at the garden tent for the Mount Vernon Historic Plant and Garden Sale, which is located outside in front of the Shops at Mount Vernon.
Fee includes general admission to the estate.
