Written clues and colorful pictures guide families on an exploration of nine locations on the Mount Vernon estate. On one side is a map to help you find your way, with each stop that contains a clue clearly numbered.

At each location, read the clue and look around carefully. You may also want to read the green signs. Write your answer in the blank spaces. One letter in each word will be in a box. After you have visited all nine stops, use the boxed letters to solve the word puzzle about George Washington.

Once you complete the word puzzle, have your answer checked at the Guest Services desk in the lobby of the Donald W. Reynolds Education Center and Museum. If your answer to the Adventure Map’s word puzzle is correct, you receive a special prize!

“Loved the kid’s adventure guide. It helped to keep my kids (ages 8 & 10) interested and engaged. For some reason, they particularly loved the Ha-ha wall question!”

“My 11 year old son enjoyed the kid’s activity and received a small ‘prize’ for filling it out.”
