The American and French peoples have enjoyed a close relationship ever since the likes of Generals Lafayette and Rochambeau, and the Admiral de Grasse aided the Americans in their quest for independence from Great Britain. The sister republics have had at times, a tempestuous relationship, but despite occasional differences of opinion, the American people and their French allies have been stalwart comrades in their quest for a world based on Liberté, Égalité, et Fraternité.

This dinner is a part of the larger conference, The Marquis de Lafayette and the European Friends of the American Revolution.
