As Mount Vernon’s premier membership society, the Regent’s Circle celebrates a distinguished group of donors whose generosity provides vital support to this important historical institution.
When Ann Pamela Cunningham founded the Mount Vernon Ladies’ Association in 1853, she knew her dedication to save Mount Vernon would have an impact on many generations. For more than 160 years, Mount Vernon has been at the forefront of historic preservation. The Mount Vernon Ladies’ Association (MVLA) is the private, 501(c)(3) organization that owns and operates George Washington’s home. The board is comprised exclusively of women, each representing a state, and it is the oldest national historic preservation group in the nation. The chair of the board is known as the Regent.
Members of the Regent’s Circle join a loyal group of donors united in their support of preserving the home and legacy of our country’s foremost founding father. In honor of your commitment and support, we are pleased to offer you exclusive benefits and insider experiences.
