Mount Vernon Receives Preserving America Grant from Americana Corner

Mount Vernon, Virginia - George Washington's Mount Vernon is proud to announce that it has been awarded a 2023 Preserving America grant from Americana Corner to further its mission of educating students about the American Revolution. The grant will support the development of new educational resources that will deepen understanding of this pivotal period in American history.

The funds will allow Mount Vernon to create dedicated web hubs for teachers and students around the key topics of the Constitution and the Battle of Yorktown, Trenton, and Princeton. These teaching and learning resources are shared free of charge and will be utilized in both homeschooling and traditional school settings.

Mount Vernon depends on the generous donations of patriotic individuals, organizations, and foundations from across the country to support our mission to preserve, restore and manage the estate of George Washington to the highest standards and to educate visitors and people throughout the world about the life and legacies of George Washington so that his examples of character and leadership will continue to inform and inspire future generations.

Americana Corner was founded by Tom Hand in 2020 as an online resource to help others rediscover America’s incredible founding and first century of expansion. The Preserving America Grant Program assists organizations that tell the story of our nation’s wonderful past and rekindle a love for American history in all its splendor.
