Emelie Gevalt, Curatorial Chair for Collections, Curator of Folk Art at the American Folk Art Museum in New York City will chat with Mount Vernon's Susan P. Schoelwer, Ph.D., Executive Director, Historic Preservation and Collections as they discuss "American Weathervanes: The Art of the Winds." It is the first exhibition in more than four decades to highlight the beauty, historical significance, and technical virtuosity of American vanes fashioned between the late eighteenth and early twentieth centuries. George Washington's iconic "Dove of Peace" weathervane is among the highlights. Exhibition at the American Folk Art Museum until January 2, 2022.
