Farming was Washington’s greatest passion, and he devoted himself to the study of new and emerging agricultural practices. Many have described Washington's interest in agriculture as highly scientific in nature. In this episode, we talk with Associate Curator Jessie MacLeod about agriculture and enslaved farmers at Mount Vernon by exploring a rare annotated book given to George Washington by his close friend John Beale Bordley.
