here to visit George
Washington's home along the
Potomac River
we're going to be taking a look
at what george washington called
his new film
I it's here on the north wing of
the house it was
added to the house in at the
beginning at the revolutionary
war started in seventeen
seventy-six
it balances the south wing that
he added that the other and
which was a practical way in
with the bedchamber offer he and

floor
so let's go inside welcome to
George Washington's new room
it's really the most impressive
and beautiful room
in the mansion it's the last
room that he added to the
mansion
and what makes it so special for

would have never seen outside a
public setting
I also love the great
lady in window in the north wall
which is just
a very important architectural
feature the collar
people noticed immediately when
they walk in this intense

green accented with Bob and
white the plasterwork
ornamentation in neoclassical
motifs with swag on
and medallions and finally
the agricultural feed their runs
through both the
plasterwork decoration on the
ceiling and the carving in this
wonderful marble fireplace
behind now people often ask what
was this Froome used for
well it was sometimes used for
dianne when the washingtons have

visitors
but mostly it was a a
multi-purpose room on it was
really a statement room and when
visitors came to tour mom
