These limited words found in George Washington's expense ledger are the only surviving mention of a camel's visit to Mount Vernon for Christmas in 1787.
Aladdin has been Mount Vernon's visiting camel every holiday season since he was eleven months old. Mount Vernon's Livestock Team works closely with Aladdin's owner, Jennifer Cossette of Pony to Go based in Berryville, VA to ensure his health and happiness during his visits.
