Let's explore Washington and Thanksgiving in your classroom!

Join our Education team for a live presentation of a lesser-known part of the legacy of one of our country's greatest leaders. With this program, students will examine Washington's Thanksgiving Proclamation of 1789, discuss the legacy of that proclamation, and reflect on how precedents set by Washington are still active in our lives today. 

Program Information

  • This program will be offered live twice on both Friday, November 18th and Tuesday, November 22nd 
  • Sessions will be hosted at 11:00am ET and 1:00pm ET on both days. 
  • This program will be hosted through the video platform Cisco Webex. Links will be sent by email upon registration and a week before the event.
  • This program is free

Program Audience

  • All grades are welcome for all sessions, but sessions are designed with middle school ages in mind
  • Teachers may sign up as a class and view together or provide the links to their students to log-in individually
  • All teachers and students will need internet access
  • Please only register for one session total

Program Outcomes

  • Have a fun/engaging/memorable experience by visually connecting with Mount Vernon and their classmates.
