About the Talk

George Washington and Thomas Jefferson knew each other for thirty years. They were colleagues who became friends and collaborated on some of the most important events associated with the American Revolution and its aftermath. They had much in common yet, at the time of Washington's death, they were estranged.

Frank Cogliano, who's writing a book about the relationship between Washington and Jefferson, will discuss their relationship and their differences, which became profound and shaped how Americans have come to understand the American Revolution.
