While George Washington is best known for his success as a general during the American Revolution and the role he played as the first president of the United States, his contributions as a visionary farmer, and passion for agriculture, are often overlooked. 

As the landscape of Mount Vernon changes throughout the seasons, this program highlights different innovations throughout the year.

Guests can meet their tour guides at the Pole Shelter on the east end of the Pioneer Farm.
