Climb aboard the Spirit of Mount Vernon or Miss Christin for a 45-minute tour. As you travel north on the Potomac, hear stories of the people and animals who have inhabited its shores throughout history, including Native Americans, fish, and bald eagles. Pass by the imposing Fort Washington in Maryland and learn about the river's role in the Civil War.
George Washington's riverfront estate provided him with spectacular views and a source of income from his fisheries. As you progress up the river, discover its importance to Washington's business ventures and the legacy of the Mount Vernon Ladies' Association to preserve Washington's view.
Please allow 30 minutes to walk to the Wharf to meet your boat. Tours depart promptly, and late arrivals cannot be accommodated. General admission is required.
