Families with children ages 10 and under can discover more about the Constitution in the Hands-on-History Center. Children can:

  • Write out the Preamble using emojis.
  • Practice signing their names, and think about the importance of putting your name on something.
  • Imagine that they are creating their own country.
    • What kind of rules would it have? Who would lead it? What would its flag look like?

History-at-Play

Books, 18th-century costumes, a Mount Vernon dollhouse, and more are also available in the Hands-on-History Center.
