Mary Wiseman, who has portrayed Lady Washington for 16 years, joins Elizabeth Keaney, the interpreter portraying young Mrs. Washington, for a discussion about Martha Washington, themselves, and how they bring their characters to life.

Queen cakes: these little cakes are made with currants, nutmeg, mace, and cinnamon and baked in intricate shapes.
Chocolate puffs: a light, delicate sweet similar to meringues.
Shrewsbury cakes: crisp, buttery cookies often flavored with spices like nutmeg and cinnamon.
