Hamilton Tour

Our popular Hamilton tour is now offered to groups! This 60-minute specialty tour uses lyrics from the hit musical Hamilton to explore George Washington’s Mount Vernon.

As you “look around, look around” the estate grounds, you’ll discuss the themes of the musical, the real-life events that inspired it, and “who lives, who dies, who tells your story.”

Distillery & Gristmill Tours

Weekends Only, April 1 – October 31

George Washington's gristmill could produce 5,000 to 8,000 pounds of flour and cornmeal a day.

In 1799, his distillery produced nearly 11,000 gallons, making it one of the largest whiskey distilleries in America.

At our working mill, watch the water wheel turn the mighty gears as we grind Washington's grain. You can also tour a reconstructed working distillery that produces small batch spirits on site today.
