Educators Evening: The Music of the Constitutional Convention

Join Mount Vernon's K12 & Youth Programs Department to celebrate the season with a special night dedicated to K12 teachers in the District of Columbia, Virginia, and Maryland.

This year we welcome Dr. David Hildebrand who will explore how music in America became "American Music" and how it has been used as a platform for artists to contribute to public discussions about politics and society from the Founding to the 21st century. This program will take audience members back in time to the music of the Constitutional Convention and the late 18th century while making connections to the music of today.

Following the program, join our staff for Candlelight tours of the Mansion, hors d'oeuvres, drinks, and conversation.

A $5.00 registration fee will be charged for each ticket. The fee will be refunded after attendance at the program. The program will begin promptly at 5:45pm. Check-in for the program will begin at 3:00pm on December 4. Those arriving early will have access to the Education Center & Museum and the Mount Vernon Shops.
