20th Anniversary GWTI Reunion

During the summer of 1999, 20 teachers from Mississippi came to Mount Vernon and spent a week learning about George Washington and the world in which he lived. Now, 20 years later, we have hosted over 1,300 teachers for an immersive, engaging, and memorable residential experience.  

Join us in celebrating the Institute's resounding impact in classrooms around the country as we mark this anniversary with a 20th-anniversary reunion. This celebration and conference at Mount Vernon will help renew your connections to Mount Vernon, provide opportunities to visit with passionate educators like yourself, and allow you to share your memories and experiences with your family.  

• The GWTI alumni registration will cover all reunion programming including PD sessions. admission fees for all three days, behind-the-scenes and specialty tours, lunches, sunrise on the piazza, and an evening piazza reception.
• The GWTI guest registration for family members will cover admission fees for all three days, behind-the-scenes and specialty tours, sunrise on the piazza, and an evening piazza reception.
• Programming will include behind the scenes tours and before- and after-hours access to the estate.
• A special GWTI Alumni wreath-laying ceremony 
• Hotel Room blocks are available at the following hotels:
  •  The Alexandrian, Autograph Collection - Available July 3-6, 2019. Must book by May 20, 2019. The group rate is $135/night.
