Mount Vernon is open over the holiday weekend.  We look forward to seeing you!

We preserve George Washington's home and legacy.

For more than 150 years, the Mount Vernon Ladies’ Association has protected and preserved the home of the Father of Our Country.

Today, we continue to restore and maintain the Mansion, grounds, and outbuildings so that the millions of people who visit each year can experience the estate as it looked at the time of Washington’s death in 1799.

Our Preservation Efforts

We Teach about George Washington

We Teach about George Washington

Washington’s sterling examples of character and leadership are just as relevant today as they were in the 18th century.  With your support, we can keep Washington first in the hearts of his countrymen and provide educational programs both on the estate and across the nation to ensure students, teachers, scholars, and leaders keep Washington’s legacy vibrant in today’s society.
