Sponsor Washington’s Birthday Celebration

We invite you to sponsor this patriotic celebration of George Washington's birthday.

As a sponsor, you will receive national recognition as a partner in education, historic preservation, and advancing our first president's legacy.

Your sponsorship provides much-needed funds for George Washington's Mount Vernon. Let us collectively do our part to ensure that Mount Vernon endures for future generations.

Mount Vernon is not a government-funded park or agency. Instead, we rely on the generosity of patriots like you for every dollar needed to save George Washington's historic estate.

As an IRS 50l(c)(3) tax exempt entity (#54-0564701), Mount Vernon is not a government-funded historic site, so we truly depend upon the generosity of patriotic individuals and institutions to reach our preservation and education goals.

A Long-Standing Tradition

Since the Revolutionary War, people have celebrated George Washington's birthday with parades, performances, and dances. Historic celebrations range from the reading of Washington's Farewell Address in Congress going back to 1862, to past presidents and dignitaries honoring our nation's first president and commander in chief at his beloved home, Mount Vernon.

Today, the Mount Vernon Ladies' Association continues the tradition of celebrating George Washington's birthday with a series of events including opening to the public for free, hosting the annual Birthnight Supper & Ball, and celebrating with an online national birthday party.
