For more than 160 years, the Mount Vernon Ladies’ Association has welcomed people around the world to the home of George Washington.

Throughout our long history, we have weathered history’s most trying moments, from wars to illness to economic crises, always emerging stronger, thanks to the steadfast support of treasured friends.

We invite you to gather with us for a Homecoming to Mount Vernon event.

Together let us celebrate the special friendships, unwavering commitment to our mission of preservation and education, and the enduring spirit of possibility that draws us home to Mount Vernon.

Whether deep in the trenches of battle or establishing the “great experiment” known as the United States of America, Washington longed to be at his beloved home on the Potomac. Centuries later, Mount Vernon remains a place for inspiration and reflection. The hallowed grounds echo the footsteps of the past and welcome those of today - yours.

His home is our home: a place to gather with loved ones, to make lasting memories, and to celebrate the founding of our great nation. Remaining true to our beliefs, we do not accept government funding and rely on the generosity of the public to sustain our important mission. Your support will help Mount Vernon endure for centuries to come.
