Estate admission for school visits grades K-12 is $7 per student.
Chaperones (1 per 10 students) are admitted for $7 each. Additional adults pay the adult group rate of $13 each.
Admission includes self-guided tours of the 45-acre estate including the Mansion, gardens, a dozen outbuildings, the Ford Orientation Center, the Donald W. Reynolds Museum & Education Center, the George Washington: Pioneer Farmer site (seasonal), the Forest Trail, Washington's Tomb, and more.
NEW- A separate entrance has been designed just for groups! Dedicated ticket staff work with group leaders to ensure a quick and timely entrance into Mount Vernon. Additional restrooms and visitor amenities make your arrival at Mount Vernon smooth and efficient.
George Washington's Distillery & Gristmill are located 3 miles west of the estate. Watch as distillers demonstrate 18th-century techniques operating five copper stills, mash tubs, and a boiler in the two-story building that also includes an office and living quarters. Tour the Gristmill and see a working water-powered mill as operated by millers in colonial attire. Tours of these sites require separate admission and transportation is not provided. Combine this tour with estate admission and receive a special school discount* for students and chaperones!
Bus drivers and licensed tour operators receive complimentary admission with identification.
