George Washington established his upper garden in the early 1760's and as part of his plan, he included four octagonal structures that added both practical and decorative touches to the gardens. The distinctive building with the unusual roof in the northwest corner served as a garden house and also a schoolhouse for Martha Washington's grandchildren. The Garden House Collection is designed exclusively for Mount Vernon. The fine porcelain cookie jar measures 12" tall. Hand washing recommended. Keep your drink warm with this unusual lidded mug. Shaped exactly like George Washington's garden house, this mug measures 6" tall to the top of the finial. The 8" tall 4 cup teapot is part of the Garden House Collection.
