Mount Vernon Annual & Collectible Ornaments
Pioneer Barn
George Washington always considered himself a farmer. His unusual Pioneer Barn was originally constructed between 1792-1794 while he was president. The two-story, sixteen-sided structure features a treading circle on the top floor where horses would tread the wheat grown in Mount Vernon's fields. From the individual shingles on the roof to the feathers on the geese outside, this resin ornament of the 16-sided Pioneer Barn is realistic in detail. A banner across the bottom reads Pioneer Barn, and the back of the ornament is smooth.
