Cat’s Meow Village Collection
George Washington’s Gristmill
The 18th century water-powered mill played an important role in George Washington’s vision for America’s future. A stone mill equipped with two sets of millstones turns grain into flour and corn into meal as it was done 200 years ago. Washington wrote to Lafayette in 1788, “I hope someday or another, we shall become a storehouse and granary for the world.” This Cat’s Meow piece is 5 ¼” wide and 4 ½” tall.
