Neighborhood Friends of Mount Vernon
Those who live on George Washington’s original five farms (specifically, zip codes 22308, 22309 and 22121) may join the Neighborhood Friends of Mount Vernon and receive unique benefits. In addition, the Neighborhood Friends commit their generous contributions to a unique project on or related to Washington’s home property like the reconstruction of George Washington’s Blacksmith Shop. Today they are funding an endowment in support of a full-time, first-person interpreter to portray a Blacksmith, ensuring that the Blacksmith Shop is an exciting stop for all visitors.
