This Mount Vernon glass suncatcher ornament was handcrafted in Virginia using the same methods used in George Washington's time.
George Washington acquired Mount Vernon in 1754 from his elder half brother's estate. At that time, the mansion was a one and one half story farmhouse which Washington spent the next forty five years enlarging and improving. Visitors who approached by land in the late 18th century would have enjoyed this view of the house, its final form.  Made in America.
