Built in honor of George Washington, this monument was completed on December 6, 1884 after standing unfinished for 25 years. It is a classic obelisk that is hollow inside. The view of Washington, D.C. from the top is spectacular. This blue block measures 4 3/8" x 8" x 1". Fireworks glitter in the night sky against the lit monument. The U.S. Capitol is in the background. Casper the cat is hard to spot at the base of the monument against the dark trees.
