As part of his plan for the upper and lower gardens at Mount Vernon, George Washington included four octagonal structures that added both practical and decorative touches to the gardens. In the mid-1970s, one of these small buildings in the west end of the upper garden was identified as the "schoolhouse" and it is likely that Martha's grandchildren, Nelly and Washy Custis, took some of their lessons there.
The kit includes craft material, floss, needle, instructions, and a color image of the completed project.
Finished miniature is 3” x 2” on 18 count Charles Craft fabric.
Made in America.
