Martha Washington’s own shell patterned needlepoint cushions inspired the shape of this gold edged enamel pin.  The blue and white image of the West Front of the mansion is taken from the “Mount Vernon’s Plantation Toile” pattern.
The pin is 1 ¼” wide and ¾” high.
