This shell is adapted from a repeat pattern Martha Washington used for needlework cushions now in the Mount Vernon collection.  Mrs. Washington completed 12 shell-patterned cushions over a period of 36 years.  The cushions were used on Windsor chairs in the little parlor at Mount Vernon.  

The finished size is 13" x 11” on 14 count Charles Craft fabric.  Kit includes Charles Craft material, DMC floss, needle, chart, instructions, and a color illustration of the finished project.
