This Mount Vernon glass suncatcher ornament was handcrafted in Virginia using the same methods used in George Washington's time. This shell is adapted from a repeat pattern Martha Washington used for the needlepointed cushions now in the Mount Vernon collection. Mrs. Washington completed 12 of these shell-patterned cushions over a period of thirty-six years.  Made in America.
