The shell design is adapted from a repeat pattern Martha Washington used for needlework cushions now in the Mount Vernon collection.  Mrs. Washington completed 12 shell-patterned cushions over a period of 36 years.  The cushions were used on Windsor chairs in the little parlor at Mount Vernon. 

The kit includes craft material, floss, needle, instructions, and a color image of the completed project. 

Finished miniature is 3” x 2” on 18 count Charles Craft fabric.
