George Washington's Bookplate
George Washington's bookplate featured an adaptation of the Washington family coat of arms. In 1771, Washington ordered the original copper engraving and 300 prints of his bookplate form London. The bookplate also contains the family motto, "Exitus Acta Probat," which means "The end proves the deed." This white porcelain plate has a dark blue rim edged in gold trim with the bookplate centered on the plate in gold. The plate is 8" in diameter. Gift boxed.
