In 1797, George Washington established one of the largest whiskey distilleries in America. The stone still house was 75’ x 30’ and included a distilling room outfitted with five copper pot stills, a storage cellar for whiskey, and an office.
In 1799, the year of Washington’s death, the distillery produced more than 10,500 gallons of rye whiskey and brandy valued at $7,600.
This 48 ounce stoneware whiskey still decanter with glazed food-safe interior is styled after George Washington’s copper pot stills. The decanter stands 9” high and has a base diameter of approximately 5 ½”.
