Blue and white china patterns have been very popular since the 18th century.  The decoration on this blue and white covered meat platter, adapted from a Chinese Export platter, circa 1740, is similar to the Imperial Blue pattern.  The graceful floral design mixes well with other blue and white tableware.
The platter measures 15 ½" x 12” x 9” and the maximum height of the domed cover is 7 ½”.
