Martha Washington completed twelve needlepoint cushions which were used on Windsor chairs in the little parlor at Mount Vernon.  The design used for the border of this cross stitch pillow is Mrs. Washington’s shell pattern. The words “First Lady” are in the center.  The finished size is 6 ½” x 4 ½” on 18 count Charles Craft fabric.  Floss in 2 shades of blue is included.  Made in America.
