Great Blue Lobelia Seed Pack
Price: $3.00
Lobelia Siphilitica. Great Blue Lobelia is a perennial native to the East Coast. It produces lavender-blue tubular flowers on erect 2-3 foot stems. This plant is usually unbranched, but branching is not uncommon. Each flower is split into two lips, with the upper lip having two segments and the bottom lip having three. It is a desirable plant for woodland gardens and wetlands, and it blooms bright blue in late summer.
Sow outdoors in late fall for spring germination, or sow indoors following 3 months in the refrigerator in moistened soil. Maintain soil temperature of 70 degrees. Germination takes 15-20 days.
Heirloom seeds are collected from the gardens and grounds of George Washington's Mount Vernon and cleaned and packaged by hand.
