George Washington was an avid gardener with over six acres of enclosed gardens surrounding his Mansion. Even though Washington employed a head gardener to attend to flower and vegetable gardens, tree groves, orchard, and greenhouse, he still devoted almost daily attention to the care and improvement of his gardens. Washington personally gathered and sowed seeds, and transplanted, propagated, grafted and pruned trees. There were flowering trees such as pink magnolias blooming at Mount Vernon in Washington’s time just as they do today.
The design for this sateen silk scarf is inspired by the lovely pink and coral toned magnolia blossoms at Mount Vernon.
The 100% silk oblong scarf is 17” x 72”.
