The Hyacinth Bean (Dolichos Lablab) has a long history of being an exceptional ornamental vine. It produces long spiked clusters of lavender flowers which are held above the purple tinged foliage and purple stems. Blooms turn into beautiful purple pods adding interest to the vine all summer. Mount Vernon’s Hyacinth Bean flowers are the inspiration for Silver Seasons artist Michael Michaud in creating these “copies of nature” jewelry using the lost wax casting method. The single blossom drop earrings are made of hand patinaed bronze and freshwater pearls. The blossom is approximately 5/8" wide.
