Mount Vernon Blacksmith Shop Products
In April, 2010, the Mount Vernon Blacksmith Shop opened on the same site as George Washington’s original shop, on the North Lane just 200 feet from the Mansion. Visitors to Mount Vernon can enjoy daily demonstrations by talented craftsmen in the reconstructed shop as they transform raw iron into decorative objects and tools.
- Smithy Nails are approximately 2 ½” long.
- Smithy J-Hooks are approximately 3” long.
- Smithy S-Hooks are approximately 6” long.
The 18th century style nails and hooks were forged by hand at George Washington's Mount Vernon.
